Bridal Session at M.A.C.

Bridal Session at M.A.C.

Bridal season is coming up soon and what better way to get prepared than continuing education at Makeup Art Cosmetics (M.A.C.)? Recently, I attended a hands on bridal session taught by makeup artist Shelly of the Impact Team at M.A.C. in Cherry Hill, N.J and I brought along my own model, Liz.

Bridal makeup encompasses physical and mental properties i.e. a makeup artist chooses colors to enhance the natural beauty of a bride as well as creating a look that compliments her style.

In order to get this process done, I started off by using paint pot for an eye base. Paint pots are highly pigmented creamy eye color which blends over the lids and dries with a smooth finish. Next, I used pink and purple shadows to give her a vibrant look. I then primed her face using Prep + Prime Radiance primer. The importance of using a primer is to fill any open pores or creases, thereby keeping makeup out of pores and ultimately creating a smooth surface for applying foundation. Layering foundation over the primer also helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines. And finally her face was set with Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder, a light weight powder that sets the foundation.

We were able to address concerns that many brides usually have, such as long lasting makeup, non-smudge techniques, and foundations for various skin types.

To my readers: Remember, it does not matter how skilled or talented you are; your talent is wasted if it is not procured and refined to perfection. You should continue to learn and perfect your craft. And to quote Liz “I don’t want to wash it off!”

She feels as good as she looks! 😉
