Girls Night Out with Dr. G

Girls Night Out with Dr. G

Hello beauties, I had the privilege of being Shecky’s spotted blogger for Girls Night Out in Philadelphia, PA.  Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed by Sheckys staff. I am a doctor and makeup artist who loves all things beauty related, so being at GNO was the perfect beginning to the end to my long day.

I surveyed all the booths, met, and chatted with the sponsors and sampled as many of the lovely products, so here is Dr. G’s take on GNO

More Sprinkles Please

I was drawn to the fresh tropical scents coming from Pink Zebra’s booth. What could it be? Sprinkles!  Pink Zebra is best known for their home fragrance sprinkles; made of 95% soy wax beads.  They sell over 50 different scents, but the most popular is the Tahitian Lime. (a blend of raspberry and lime).  Sprinkles can be displayed in your home, in anything from a candle bowl to martini glass or melted in a diffuser/simmer pot: an excellent touch to décor. Why stop there? Sprinkle them onto a burning candle, add to a vacuum bag or even place in a drawer!  I enjoyed the scents so much that  I walked away with a few samples for the home

Hello Leather

For example, Patrick made several wallets with leather scraps of Oscar De La Renta and pocket books lined with silk from Ralph Lauren.

The cool thing about this line is that Patrick is local designer, so if you are looking for a unique-trendy gift, this is your one stop shop in Philly for handbags, wallets, clutches, wine totes and much more.  Be on the lookout for Patrick Michael Accessories, and contact him at patrickmichaelaccessories@gmail.com.

Just Veet It

Spring is here and summer rapidly approaching. What does that mean for us women? Time to get our legs beach ready. And what better way than with a wax or shave from VEET. I had so much fun at this booth, playing with beach balls, taking photos, and learning about the new Easy Wax Electrical Roll on Kit from Veet. The great thing about Veet is that it is a home waxing system: one will have smooth legs for up to 28 days. To score coupons and watch a video of the Easy Wax device, visit www.veet.us/easywax. Hail to summer leg smoothness.

Shea Moisture

One of my all time favorites i.e. Shea Moisture, I’ve been using the original formula for my hair needs for the past 8 years, and I love it. I stopped by their booth and sampled the new product line and met Shea Moisture’s Creative Director, Jewels Barron. Each product is designed around the concept of problem solution based. For example, one can use African black soap for oily skin, Olive and green tea for eczema and psoriasis, or coconut and hibiscus for kinky curly hair. After smelling and sampling all of the products, I ended up scoring some bath and hair goodies. Thank you Jewels Barron! My skin and hair will thank me later. Shea Moisture can be purchased at Target, CVS, and Walgreens.

One cannot forget the Shecky’s goodie bag. This year, it was filled with a marriage novel, Beauty Products from Selma Hyak’s new line “Nuance”, and sample goodies from Miss Jessie’s to name a few. After racking up on a bunch of goodies, I give my overall GNO experience 5 stars.

Thank you again Sheckys for inviting me as a spotted blogger for GNO in Philly.

Until next time…Ciao 🙂

Amazing DrG. I love that you were given the opportunity to do this. I’m a huge fan of Shea moisture myself. Did they have samples of their new hair color line as well? It’s cool to see you branching out from make up, it shows a different side to you. You’re pretty much all things beauty….hair, skin, make up and fashion. I love it. Remain blessed.

Hi Racquel, thank you for the lovely words. I love all aspects of beauty 🙂 Jewels did not have the new Shea Moisture hair coloring system at that event, however it was showcased in Atlanta’s GNO. She will also be showcasing it at the Sheckys GNO in NYC in June.

Hi Ade, thanks for the compliment 🙂 As a vendor who appeals to most women, You can certainly attend this event as a vendor. Please email me at info@makeupbydrg.com and I will forward the appropriate contact info at Sheckys to you. I think it would be great to have hundreds of women in NYC get a glimpse of shodiphoto.
