Respond to “How do I Prevent my Eyeshadow from Creasing?”

This question was posed by one of our followers, Jade. I’m making the response public because other viewers will benefit from it.

So you’ve applied your eyeshadow and it looks amazing. 4 hours later, the eyeshadow is accumulating in the crease of your lid, and you cringe. If this has happened to you time after time, it may be a due to oily lids. To prevent this from happening, you should use an eyeshadow primer or base. Not only do primers/bases prevent eyeshadow from creasing, they also brings out the eyeshadow color, while keeping it in place for several hours.

There are many primers on the market. My favorites are Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and NYX Eyeshadow base. I hope this helps! 🙂

Jade, you can get the Urban Decay and the Too Faced at Sephora. You can get the NYX at local beauty supply stores or the NYX website. 🙂
