24 Nov Winter Skincare: Lancome Hydra Intense Mask and Artistry Skin Refinishing Lotion
Hey Beauties,
Here is a look at today’s post call pick me up: After a 24 hour shift, my usually combination oily skin was dry and dull. My fix: Lancome Hydra Intense Masque followed by Aristry Cosmetics Skin Refinishing Lotion. The long shift combined with the drying winter weather is enough to bring dullness to the brightest skin. So why do I use a hydrating mask if I have combination oily skin? Because the benefits are numerous…
First off, all products are not created equally, so choose a good brand
No matter your skin type, there are benefits to using a hydrating mask. Hydrating masks increase collagen content, improve firmness, reduce free radical damage, reduce dryness, reduce aging spots, reverse sun damage (even in winter months), and provides overall healing properties for the skin.
Collagen is the main structural protein in the makeup of human skin’s connective tissue which gives skin strength and elasticity. The benefits of using a product that increases collagen content is that it is prevents early elasticity loss and wrinkles. It’s been proven that after 8-10 weeks of using a hydrating mask, women experience a significant improvement in skin elasticity. So if you know that collagen is vital in the skin restoration process, why not use a product that provides collagen?
Essential oils such as that of avocado, macadamia, or hazelnut combined with glycerin (the best hydrating ingredient), key ingredients in hydrating masks provide ultimate moisture to combat that dry winter skin as well as protecting skin from free radical damage.
For optimal results, follow up with a moisturizer. In this cold weather, I’m all about protection from moisture loss.
With all this wonderful info about the benefits of hydration, why not try it? Your skin may thank you. And remember, If you don’t want to spend money on masks, you can always create your own DIY mask.
